Default RCA HDTVs?

I'm currently looking at a 40" RCA Full HD 1080pq 60 Hz LCD HDTV. I will most likely get this from Wal-Mart as it is the least expensive 40" I can find. I havn't seen much about RCA on this forum, can anyone give me some reviews on this? Thanks!

Also, if you know of a better deal with a good TV, please let me know where. This one is running 598.00 currently.

I would probably say if you can afford a little more get something better. I owned an RCA LCD before than it died on me extremely quick.

If you like how the RCA look in the store then you can certainly adjust the settings to look good in your home. Buy the 2 year (or the longest they offer) warranty and enjoy your new TV!

I agree if its 589 I'd save a little longer and get something like the Panasonic 42'' 1080p TC-L42U12 (right now 699 at bestbuy)

40'' 1080p toshiba is 40RV525R/U is 649.99

You'd see a big step up in quality with the pani even over the Toshiba.

I actually havn't seen this in the store yet, just browsing online. I am open to other options though.

Also if you can wait a few weeks for black friday you probably are gonna see some pretty good deals on even better TVs down to the 500 - 800 price range.

Yeah I'd hold off you if you can wait till Nov. you'd probably see the 40-42'' 1080p sets from toshiba, Panasonic, samsung, LG for under under 700 especially since a few models can be had for under that now.

Well I'm not planning on getting anything for another three weeks, but I'm not really up to fighting over Black Friday sales so as long as the price is good and it's a nice product, I'm good with paying a little more.
