Default Cinephiles Unite!

All,

I have been reading and posting on these forums for awhile. And yet, I have not seen any threads for the artful appreciation of film...everything has been the technical aspects, or the "wowie-zowie" special effects and eye-popping Blu-Ray discs.

Sure.

I love Blu-Ray. I've got over 100 now.

But what my true passion is - what I have loved since a child - is FILM.

I want to discuss directing, acting, cinematography, editing and costume design - all the crucial elements that blend to create the films that we so love.

I consider myself a true Cinephile. I would rather see a film closest to its original format - grain and all - and that is why I adopted Blu-Ray Discs. Sure, I still love the razzle-dazzle look of eye popping Blu-Rays. But I love more the energy and the passion of films that offer more than special effects - a heartfelt story, or tortured characters dealing with inner demons, or utter intense acting that makes me remember why I love the movies so much.

The Cinema.

The maroon curtains, the gold tassels, the behemoth screen. The lights dim and the excitement builds as the feature starts.

What's your passion fellow Cinephiles?
