![]() A 50GB+ BD-ROM Car GPS Navigation system would be ideal Since the year 2000 there have been car manufactories like Honda that have installed built in DVD-ROM GPS Navigation systems into some new cars. The DVD-ROM navigation from Honda (NAVTEQ) uses a dual layer DVD-ROM and every year they come closer to filling up the maximum disc capacity which is 8.5GB for the DVD format. This years 2010 update DVD-ROM is 7.28GB. If a 50GB, 100GB, or 200GB BD-ROM disc was used in the future, then built in car GPS Navigation systems onscreen map graphics for roads, gas stations, and everything else could be much more detailed compared to the small space currently allowed with the DVD-ROM system. Hopefully future car manufactories will start developing BD-ROM GPS Navigation systems. |
