beauty and the beast is coming on fall 2010.
fantasia is coming 2010 too, but don't know when.
then Lion King and Bambi (2011), Cinderella and Lady and the Tramp (2012) Little Mermaid and Peter Pan (2013), Jungle Book and 101 Dalmatians (2014), Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio diamond edition (2015).
Of course this could change or WILL change.
This are only diamong editions and doesn't include another editions like Dumbo.

Spacing out releases like this puts more people off than convinces them to switch to blu. It's a bad idea, but it's always been Disney's thing to leave people hanging. I could see it if they were continually putting the movies back in theatres, but they aren't.

Spacing them out and building the expectations for each movie individually generates much more sales than throwing everything out all at once. Re-releasing them in theaters was something they used to do, but kinda became useless with home video.

If they release all of their masterpieces right now, in 3 years when the format is ACTUALLY popular, no one would be able to find BD copies of the movies they want.

Doing it this way is the best for the consumer. It gives movie fans incentive without blowing the entire load.

And if they released everything at once, they'd be competing with themselves. If every Disney movie ever came out tomorrow on Blu-ray, yeah, Lion King would sell well, but how well do you think Dumbo would sell? People would be too busy spending all of their money on Beauty and the Beast to spend money on Robin Hood, even people who would otherwise buy these less revered titles.

Just avoid the reviews and forums where they're a bunch of cry babies about Blu-Ray.

In addition to the many great points that KubrickFan and Afrobean mentioned, spacing out the guaranteed sellers (i.e: Diamond Editions) guarantees Disney revenue in different quarters. It's basically spreading out their cash flow, which they need to do in case they have weak years.

Plus, Disney has already tried releasing all of their titles up front. Remember the Gold Collection on DVD? They committed to releasing at least 1 animated film per month, but usually had about 3. They exhausted their canon so quickly that within a year, the only films left were the big titles (Lion King, Cinderella, etc...). And because they released them so quickly, many of them had poor picture quality and irrelevant bonus features. Disney already has a great track record on Blu-Ray. It would be a shame to see them sully that with another bad release strategy.
