Default Interesting Blu-ray poll at an XBox forum...

http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=536101

Whats interesting is that it is at a forum at team xbox, so you know its stacked AGAINST Blu Ray. Even so, the majority says they own Blu Rays.

That's interesting indeed. Even when faced with the $199 add-on, a lot of Xbox 360 owners still chose Blu-ray.

Add-on sales (North America):

Nov 2006: 42K
Dec 2006: 50K
Q1 2007: 50K (16.7K per month)
Q2 2007: 22K (7.3K per month)

So, 164K total. Or ~1.6% attach rate.

A dead, dead, dead concept. 1/2 HD (no HD audio).

Of course, with full players at $239, who would pay $179 for an add-on?

Gary

Wow MR DBZ, 208 Blu-ray movies? Did you buy every movie ever released? Or is is just wishfull thinking?

Blu-ray has already won. Only MSFT fanboys and Morons buy HD-DVD. Oops i forgot they are one in the same.

Even Xbox 360 owners feel safer with Blu-ray, the 360 does not have a long life span (it craps out faster than cheap 2nd hand clunker). The HD-DVD unit is useless without Xbox 360? Or is it?

It's possible to use the HD-DVD drive on a PC with the right play back software. If that is the case, then it's possible to get the Xbox 360 HD-DVD add on to work on a PS3! How? LINUX. Install Linux and HD-DVD playback software for LINUX, and HD-DVD add on works like any external optical drive.

But why would we want to? Our Job is to keep buying blu-ray convert all to our holy Blu-ray gospel, and send HD-DVD off to the scrap yard hell.

Funny you mention that. My friend called me up last night very pissed off that his 360 had just died. The red ring of death appeared and took his fun away. Im waiting on mine to die also.

Funny thing is about the Micro$oft phone help service is that it is only open mon-fri 9-5. Doesn't Micro$oft realize that most gamers play at night and on the weekends and mostly everyone works those same hours? Nor have the time to call at those times? I know that's just minor but it's really annoying for some. I just don't know why people still buy into HDDVD. Anyone can look at the specs and company support and just say "DUH!!!" When that external drive came out some of my friends were about to buy into it. I looked into it too. then i compared it with the PS3. Wow, just wow. I just couldn't believe that the PS3 was actually cheaper in terms of overall features out of the box without adding anything on. It even came with a rechargable battery with the controller, something i was really annoyed about with the xbox. I'm not bashing the xbox at all I have one and love it. I just hate when companies just don't take their time to refine their product just to gain market share.

Cool

I love blu-ray for movies and my 360 for games. the 360 has been ticking strong for almost 3 years with nary a hint of the red ring. If it craps out now I'd be like, whatever, I got my money's worth cuz I played the shat out of the thing.

I own and Xbox and a Blu-Ray standalone - I'm not against Blu-Ray at all but I don't see the value of the PS3 as a gaming machine right now. I bought the Xbox to game with. Blu-Ray is the better format and HD-DVD is on its way out so buying a Blu-Ray was a no-brainer...just didn't need another console in the form of the PS3. At the time the PS3 didn't support 1080p/24 which was also a reason I chose the standalone but to say that xbox people are anti-blu-ray isn't accurate I don't think...
