Yeah, I got this, too. Check out the (stupid) terms, though. It's a 2-week trial that begins as soon as you click the button, except you won't get the disc for a couple of days, so you just burn those days. Then, unless you cancel during the trial period, it automatically turns into a full-fledged (and full price) membership.

But you should be able to stream online to a computer in the first couple days, right? At least it's free

All free trials subscriptions are like that. Magazines have been doing that for decades.

I already had netflix. Got my disc in the mail the other day and now can watch any bad movie ever made . Not really I saw a few good ones on there, it's a cool feature for those that already had netflix.

I give Netflix credit. I started my trial on a Friday, and had my first three movies in the mail on Saturday.

I didn't do this trial though, I used some code someone on this site gave me, for a free month of whatever plan I wanted (so I got the 3-at-a-time w/ Blu-ray).

We signed up for Netflix yesterday, and watched 2 movies and a documentary via our HD TiVo.

The documentary and 1 of the movies were streamed in HD, and they looked and sounded decent, much like an upscaled DVD. The 2nd movie was SD only, and to be honest, it looked awful--akin to a standard 480i DVD--very blurry. Maybe I'm just spoiled with Blu-ray, but it was blah.

We have a pretty fast connection @ our home, so only a few minor hiccups occurred where the movie had to re-buffer. Between 3 movies, this maybe happened 8 times, for a few seconds each time. The documentary did have about 2-3 instances where it just stopped playing completely and dumped me back into the TiVo menu, but this sounds more like a TiVo glitch.

Overall, I'm happy with it. We signed up to the $8.99 (+$2 more for Blu-ray) plan, added about 60 Blu-rays to my disc queue and 40 others to my streaming queue, so the selection is decent, but by no means extensive.

When I do receive my disc, is NF going to be accessible free of the PS video store? Because since I didn't deactivate my broken PS3 before it died, I can't DL anything from the video store.

Call Sony to have it deactivated.

Netflix is accessed through BD-Live.

I should get my disc today or tomorrow. Netflix is a REALLY good deal -- Never a late fee, and keep it as long as you want. Also, when you return something -- at least in our case -- the next one arrives within a few days.

I want to buy stock in them now that the PS3 is in their business model. Was a smart move for Sony and Netflix IMHO

X-Box Live costs you annually, but this is free for just the price of a Netflix membership! X-Box live doesn't let you get Blu's by mail does it?!?!

It couldn't even play the Blu-rays even if it did.

does the netflix stream contain 5.1 audio?

I can be certain it won't be lossless, but at least 5.1 unlike the PSN's videos?

That's my only problem with streaming media.. bandwidth gives me inferior images and sound.. I did not spend money on my home theater to be insulted with petty 2 channel audio and compressed images!

From what I here, it is 2.0. I am good with that for streaming though. Can always get the Blu and get 5.1 +

I highly doubt it.

Anymore opinions on the video quality? Are there many HD options?

I have blockbuster at the moment - but I like the idea of having streaming at my home. Could be cool.

I have a 65" HDTV, so I'm kinda worried the SD video would look horrendous!

Wink Limited?

For those who have gotten their PS3 discs from Netflix.

How exactly does the streaming work? Is there limited or full access to what is available on Netflix instant viewing?

I'm anxious to try this out. My disc is scheduled to be in tomorrow.

When you load up the disc, you can browse through various genres, and then it will load up a selection of movies to browse through.

I'm pretty sure all the movies that are available to stream on the site are available on the PS3 thing.

The only thing I didn't notice is a search box, to try to look up a movie. It might be easier to use the site to look up movies you are interested in, to see if they are available for streaming, and if they are, add them to your streaming queue.

Then when you load up the PS3 disc, you can browse to your streaming queue, and pick the movies from there that you loaded in from the site.

If that makes any sense.
