Anyone ever have any luck picking up a pre-order BD a day early from Best Buy?

?? Reason I ask is because Best Buy sent me an email so I am wondering if its been put in the bin for pick ups?

Its for Star Trek which has an official release tomorrow the 17th.

In my experience you never can tell with Best Buy's pre-orders. I pre-ordered Up and received an email that it was ready for pick up only to find the only thing in the bin under my name was a previous order of mine (North by Northwest) which I already picked up the week earlier.

They'll say its ready for pick up but there doesn't seem to be that much communication between the website and store.

They'll probably have it in the back, just make sure you bring your order number so they can find it. There's no telling when they'll actually have it in the bin though.

I'm through with Best Buy's pre-order and pick up though. While most people can just walk into the store and pick up the blu-ray I have to wait sometimes a half hour just so I don't have to pay for the same thing twice. They can't ring up just any copy of the blu-ray on the floor. They have to locate the one reserved for you which can sometimes take several minutes. I'd sooner shell out the extra two or three bucks just so I don't have to wait.

That's how they do their preorders. If you read thru the e-mail it specifically says "Please do not go to the store to pick up your order before this date." I assume it is so you have the information needed to pick up the morning of release. Also, this is not a hot deal and should be in the Off Topic or some other section.

I've had enough problems picking things up days after they are ready, much less a day early. Like the previous poster mentioned, I have had to wait 15-20 minutes for them to find my order so after I get my Star Trek tomorrow, then I don't plan on ordering from them again. When I picked up Star Trek II a couple weeks back they searched and searched for it and finally grabbed one off the shelf.

Sorry, to tell you this, but Star Trek III was the search for Spock (not Star Trek II).

I get that too but I never tried going to see if I can.
