Anyone have much experience with factory reconditioned onkyo systems? I am thinking of getting a s6100 or s6200 set from www.accessories4less.com but I have never really bought reconditioned stuff, I really only have $300 to spend but if I can talkt he wife into the extra I am thinking of this.
Edit. Also I dont have the room to set up 7.1 really. So would I be able to use these as 5.1 and not hook up the other 2 speakers? I have no area behind the main seating area so really nowhere to put the other 2 speakers. I am open to some suggestions for a decent setup for 5.1 also. It dont have to me mind blowing as my budget is low, $300 but I may can push to $500 if I can sweet talk my wife into it. I was considering (and still am to an extent) the cheap Sony HTSS360 but im not sure how it would sound, currently I am using a sony CT-100 soundbar but the dialogue is too low alot of the time. The only requirement I would have is I want the reciever to have atleast 3 HDMI inputs that decode audio or whatever I dont want just passthrough. Last edited by Fors; 11-17-2009 at 03:55 AM. |

I bought my onkyo 606 from that website as a factory reconditioned piece. But when I got it I could honestly not tell that it was. It came in a brand new box, with new manuals, and was packed as if it was brand new, it also had the film over the display and other stuff like that. Couldn't have been happier with the purchase from

I bought the 4100 set about a year ago. I did go with the extended warranty just to be safe. The Speakers and Sub were brand new. The Receiver to me looked brand new. I have used it alot to play PS3 games and blurays over the past year. No issues and got it at a Great price.

I've never heard anyone complain about any refurbished Onkyos purchased from Accessories4less. And, yes, you can configure the Onkyo for any number of speakers you wish. The set up is very easy, and the Audyssey system will set your speakers up as well. This HTiB will decode any audio format out there, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS MasterAudio. It has 4 HDMI inputs, and 1 HDMI output, so that will probably be enough for the foreseeable future. IMHO, whether you get the 6100 or 6200, it's probably the best HTiB to date. Get one, and have fun !!
