Default Tintin Review Thread (Use Spoiler Tags)

Quote:
Peter Jackson says Tintin film is 'finished'

By Mark Savage
BBC News entertainment reporter

Steven Spielberg's Tintin film is in the can, but it will take two years for the computer animation to be completed, producer Peter Jackson has said.
The Lord Of The Rings director told the BBC: "Tintin is great. It's made. The movie is cut together and now [we] are turning it into a fully-rendered film".
"So the movie, to some degree, exists in a very rough state."
The director is in London for the Royal gala premiere of his latest film, The Lovely Bones, on Tuesday night.

omg 2 yrs?!

This sounds fantastic to me, 2 years to work with the CGI sounds astonishing to me.

I'm sorry, that's not Tintin on the cover, that's Goofus & Gallant...

I was HOPING that Spielberg & Jackson had enough vision to break out of what had been done in unimaginative-carpetbagger's CGI mo-cap so far, take a cartoonist's own world and give us an immersive Herge-verse of a living, solid, watercolor comic strip...

But giving us a "real" Tintin without Little-Orphan-Annie eyes, a real-dog Snowy, or a "real" Captain Haddock looks too much like that "real Buzz Lightyear" art that was all over the Net a while ago, and brings up the fear that Steve's just jumped into the CGI dilletante's club and remade "Monster House".
That'll teach us for forgetting that Steve's still friends with Bob Zemeckis.
(And I used to like the old 90's Nelvana series, too! )

Except Spielberg used the performance capture technology from Avatar and not the type Zemeckis used.

The stills look great, but why bump this thread that has nothing to do with the pics? Just make a new thread about The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of The Unicorn.

ppl are going to complain if a lot of threads are made for 1 subject and apparently people are going to complain when someone doesn't want to do that

I don't know why. This thread was over a year old before being bumped.

Start a new thread.
