Default Will Futureshop release Lord of the rings in Steelbook editions

So far Kudos for Fs in all their releases. I wish they release the LOTR steels, I would prefer them over any German releases (cos of thier new FSK logo fiasco and their non-english titles)

Lets all send a message to FS that we are completely behind them and prefer them over any other release.

Its catalog, Highly unlikely due to the lower sales numbers that catalog titles produce. Plus with the new Warner Iron Case, You wouldnt get a SteelBook anyhow

It's an older release so the chances of someone basically rebuying this title on another format is slimmer due to the fact that they own it already. That has never stopped Star Wars from being extremely popular, so there are exceptions and LOTR certainly I would think would be an exception.

Since LOTR is Warner...won't they be IronPaks not Steels?

Yea the release was pushed back to March I believe.

Blu Steel- If you have ever paid any attention to Ian's dialogue on the FS forums he stated his concern about lower sales of catalog titles. For a better prespective a new release is selling around 1 million copies now and catalog titles are lucky to get a 1/4 of that.(probably lower, I have never followed Catalog numbers) Even big titles like LOTR, Gladiator, etc create buzz, however their sales numbers are lack in the final tally. FS as a company, looks at the big picture and sees that SteelBook draws sales however most would buy blu-ray in any package(I dont have internal numbers so this is a very educated guess)

Many of the 12 weeks of Disney SBs are catalog titles that have already been released on blu-ray. So, isn't it possible for FS to consider putting out LOTR in an ironcase or SB?

Yes but I read that they got a break on QTY's and support from Disney on these. If theres a 4k Qty min, I would imagine the LOTR would be the same, however with WB new metal cases I guess anything can go. Heck European markets do it all the time and dont worry about it. Look at Gladiator

You guys know as much as I do I was just providing some insight on what Ian has said

You should create a thread on FS forums and attach a link to it so everyone can show their interest in this. Hopefully Ian can work something out

be careful linking here from there, they consider blu-ray.com a competitor however SBH can spam up the forums there They may censor it or suspend you for posting the thread.

I would buy LOTR EEs on BD even if they came with just the disks and no case of any kind.
