PS3 open to Internet in Bridge mode

Hi all,

I have a few static IP addresses from my ISP. I could now give one of them to my PS3 and bridge it straight out to the internet, and it would probably give me the fastest connection that I'm going to get with it.

However, this would mean that there is no firewall or NAT to protect it. Does anyone have any opinions or knowledge of whether other people do this and if it is a good idea? or is it a major security risk?
