I've seen that Jb are going to be stocking the 2 Disc DVD versino of Drag Me To Hell http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/d...version/465201
but fail to see the blu-ray version nor a release date anywhere on the web? anyone know what is happening with this awesome release?

might i add that the american release is region free which seems like i might have to import it...

No Blu release has been scheduled yet. Don't think we'll be getting the BD any time soon. We are missing out on some awesome movies on BD. Adventureland, Fanboys, Sunshine Cleaning, Ponyo, etc.

Indeed, of those I would have bought: Sunshine Cleaning, Ponyo and Drage me to hell. Why wouldn't brand new, relativly sucesfull films not get a blu ray release (what makes it worse is that films like Sunshine Cleaning aren't only bieng released on dvd, but the dvd audio track is 2 channel 224 kbps).

I watched the UK release of this the other day on Blu. It looks and sounds great.

The movie is really good and feels like a more old fashion thriller rather than your gore-porn festivals that most horror films seem to be nowadays.

Don't forget this title is currently on sale for $14.99 in the Black Friday sale at Amazon. I could not be bothered waiting and just ordered it (with some really cheap other titles). I love my LG BH200.

I don't know about any of the others, but I never import from overseas. I always stick to the local releases. Much like how people rather have all thin cases, etc. I like to have all Aussie releases. Even if LOTR was released in the U.S. a year ago or another country and was region free and everything I'd still be waiting for the Aussie release. I don't know why, I just need to have some sort of continuity.

what was censored in the aussie release? or do you mean the ratings label on the cover?

why would we miss out on the extras? what titles have we missed extras on?

nah screw that i prefer imported items over local ones. our stuff is tainted with government properganda and many cases inferior to whats sold overseas.
don't give me that support local business claptrap either.. i buy from business based in my city they just happen to import games and movies is all

What propaganda? Ratings? It isn't propaganda because it isn't advocating a certain view. It's advice, and advice of the sort that we as consumers have the right to take or leave. As for the enforcement of age restrictions, well, regardless of it being here, the UK or the US it's all the same.

As for inferior products, I've heard you mention that before. Our Blu-ray releases have generally been on par, some have actually been far better than the US releases (Terminator 3 and American Psycho are two easy examples).

I don't get what your beef is with Australian releases. Do we get every title the US gets? No. Why? Our population is less than a 10th of theirs so a number of titles simply wouldn't shift enough units. Not to mention different ownership of rights to release in international territories. We get what we get, and fortunately with the UK being the same region I have never really found myself not being able to get a title I wanted.

to me its no different than the nazi swastiker on everything, tagging,
i'd prefer these ugly rating marks smaller or just on the back..
or just a symbol on the front and explanation of on the back..

maybe some studios are capable of releasing better but most aren't.
in most cases we are left in the rears as far as DVD and bluray content and outright releases

blu-bren man calm down, the rating doesn't make a blu-ray disc...

i dont mind getting blu-rays here but if i can't get it i'll damn as hell get it from the us or uk. hell, i got the first two harry potters from canada for LESS than the cheapest price for one ultimate edition here in aus

i don't care about how the cases look, as long as i can get it for reasonable price.

am waiting on ponyo from the states and texas chainsaw massacre, house of the devil and suspiria from the uk
