Default Polk TS15 speakers good for a bedroom?

I'm right now running a 2 mains, a center, and a subwoofer that came with my Yamaha 5.1 speaker system. The mains are 2-way satellite speakers. There a local retailer that has Polk T15 speaker on sale for a little more than half-price and I was thinking of getting these and replacing my current mains with these and getting rid of my center and not use a center. I'd like to add a little more midrange to my sound than I currently have but I'm satisfied with the bass from my subwoofer. However if I get these Polk speakers some of the speaker will stick out past my TV stand's edges by about 2 inches because my TV stand isn't wide enough. Will this effect the sound quality from the speakers? I can get stands but I don't want to give up my subwoofer. I mostly game and watch movies but listen to a little bit of music sometimes. I also sit around 5 to 5-1/2 ft away from my TV and don't want the quality to suffer with larger speakers if I sit this close. If I sit this close should forget about bookshelf speakers?

I use the T15's as surround speakers and they're excellent. For around $50 (I suppose) they're a steal. Definitely buy them.
