Default The Blind Side - Sandra Bullock's best movie so far!

At least that I've seen.

Currently the movie is at 73% on Rotten Tomatoes

"Consensus: It might strike some viewers as a little too pat, but The Blind Side has the benefit of strong source material and a strong performance from Sandra Bullock."

I'm not sure what "pat" means. If its similar to sentimental I'd disagree. It never tries to force you to cry or any of that. Actually my audience was laughing a lot.

I recommend it to everyone. It has a sharp script and quality acting.

Looks good. I'll check it out when it's released over here.
I really enjoyed her performance in Crash and to this date would say it was her finest.

Yep, I noticed Sandra does really shine in these sort of comedic /dramatic roles. It's those pauses where the the camera just focuses on her face and you know exactly what she's thinking.

My friends and I found ourselves laughing too (and tearing up for me on more than a few occassions). It turned out being better than I expected.

Funny, I used to sit around when I was a kid watching football with my Dad and my brother all the time, so the
[Show spoiler]opening scene where she breaksdown what happens to Joe Theissman when Lawrence Taylor tackles him
had me drawn into the film from the get-go.

Wow all I can say is what a great movie and great performances not only by Sandra Bullock but the entire cast. This movie followed a very very good story, and I can't imagine what Michael Oher is going to do with the money that he is making in the pro's as far as foundations and such!

Quinton Aaron was similar to Sandra in that sense. He uses a lot less words but his face always says a lot.

Yep! Everyone is good, especially the little boy Jae Head. I had also never seen Tim McGraw act before. Now I want to see Friday Night Lights.

The girl who played the daughter is Lily Collins, Phil Collins daughter.

Default my two cents

I went to this movie as the guy who had to take the girl to see a "chick flick" to make up for the many times I dragged my girl to see the action movies of the year. I must say that I was pleasantly suprised by this movie and would recommend it to anyone. Its a great story and deserves a chance. As far as Sandra goes I would have to agree. This might be her best performance yet. I haven't see all of her movies so my opinion can only say so much.

agreed. i was expecting a drama cheesefest, but was pleasantly suprised. good script, good acting, good movie: 3/5 stars. the only cons i found was a few scenes when the script-writer and director were over-toying with our emotions, instead of just letting us form them naturally.
[Show spoiler] over-use of kids and polar characters posing as villans against mike to draw sympathy towards him. i'm not saying you cant use them, but it was just so blatantly over the top as being unrealisitc IMO. also, a few cheesy scenes that unnecssarily puffed up bullock: i forgot who was the protagonist of the movie for a minute (another issue: 2 protagonists)

I thought it was good, too. I was at Ole Miss the same time as Michael Oher, so I'm biased already.

The book is incredible, especially if you're a fan of the game. It's a thorough analysis of the evolution of the left tackle position, with Oher's story interspersed. Recommend the movie but HIGHLY recommend the book.
