Default Fox (well, MGM) is finally releasing something on Blu-ray!!

From thedigitalbits:

Quote:
On the Blu-ray Disc front, Fox has announced one new MGM title for release on the format on 9/11... Jeepers Creepers 2. Fox also informed us at the EMA conference that they're getting close to announcing more Blu-ray Disc titles of their own, and that when they do, they'll "be back in a big way." We hope to learn more very soon.
There, you, go.

You have to believe this is the first step to Fox gearing back up.

Is Fox Back in the Blu-ray Game? Not So Fast...
July 25, 2007

If you've been following Blu-ray Disc developments across your favorite news websites, you've no doubt already read Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is returning to the Blu-ray Disc game with the release of MGM's 'Jeepers Creepers 2' on September 11. In fact, we almost fired off this news ourselves this morning but thought otherwise and dropped Fox a line first. We're glad we did.

Fox wants you to know that at this time, they have NOT announced any dates for either MGM or Fox titles to be released on Blu-ray Disc, including 'Jeepers Creepers 2,' despite whatever information is floating around in cyberspace. Can Fox prove us wrong and "officially" announce "Jeepers Creepers 2' tomorrow? Absolutely, and we expect it to be re-released on DVD for the Halloween season. But right now, rest assured the title has not yet been announced.

Fox will leap back into high definition, folks. Be patient...

The only problem I have with that, is that TDB got their info at the show, and he claims (see AVS) that the info was on a website. Of course, Fox is welcome to contact me and correct me if I'm wrong

Did TDB get it at a show? Depends on how you interpret the verbiage.

Yes, it was on a press website briefly, but the listing was filled in with standard DVD stuff and not high-def. The other new titles on the Fox site were all news items on TDB this morning, so he was on the site and could have easily got his info from the listing.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Besides, the Kubrick titles announced today trump this!

Yes, its open to interpretation. Though, I suspect Bill Hunt would have received word that his info was wrong and corrected the post (maybe he'll do that tomorrow). I've been trying to get a contact at Fox for a while, but that just isn't as easy as one would think.

I agree, the Kubrick announcement does trump this (just got done posting).

We should talk, its good to keep lines open between people with the same goals. Please email me.

Hmmm.....me thinks more like Live Free or Die Hard (the PG-13 version), Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer, The Simpsons Movie, possibly Predator, and juuuuuuust maybe Sunshine (from indie Fox Searchlight).
