Post Will there ever be a re-release of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines anytime soon??

Does anyone know offhand if there will be a re-release of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, hopefully with a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track? The reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to debate on whether or not I should go on and buy the corrected 1080p version of Terminator 3 right now while it's $9.99 at Target, or hold off until an inevitable re-release. What do you think??

Well the price is right and if/when there is a double dip you you can always sell or trade off your current copy.

I say go for it, I did.

You can import it from the UK. That version is released by Sony and has a higher bitrate AVC transfer(at the correct 1080p resolution) as well as a Dolby TrueHD track. All it's missing from the WB release is the 3rd audio commentary and the trailer.

I've been holding off on this one as well, in hopes that they'll re-release it.

Yeah, I have it and it's a definite improvement over the U.S. release. Should only be about $23 shipped to the U.S.

I got mine from the UK, and it was both easy AND worth it.

I nabbed Batman and Batman Returns as well.

It is only $10.

I'm sure more money has been squandered on worse things than that.

If you want it, get it.

I be more in agreement to waiting if it was selling for $20 or $25...

I was in the same boat but just bought it when BJ's had it a while back for $8. The picture I think is strong, but the audio is a bit soft. Even if they redo it, it'll sell for like $19 for a few months when it first comes out, so if you can get it cheap, why wait.

I just ordered this from the UK. I don't understand why when WB fixed the problem with the video, they didn't add a HD audio track. I am so glad Sony uk version has it.

With all Terminator rights in limbo, I suspect it will be several years before any new release is available. Also, WB is famous for just repackaging content. It is quite possible that a future "re-release" will be the same encode.

Pick up the cheap current BD (I did).

Pick up the Sony import. Warner Bros. is the laziest of the major studios when it comes to correcting shortfalls in their discs. We may never see a Terminator 3 BD from them with lossless audio.

Unless the sale has ended, the UK version is part of the buy 2 Sony BDs for 14.99 pounds sale. I got this one, the Crouching Tiger steelbook, The Punisher which also has better video and lossless audio over the US release, and The Bone Collector in this sale and saved a good deal over what they normally cost to import. So, if there is a second title on the list you want, you can get a really good deal on some good imports.

Can anyone confirm if the region encoding on the UK release is activated? Presumably not if ppl are importing it from the US, but would be good to know before taking a punt on it. I live in Australia so don't want to order a blu ray from the UK if it is not region-free.

Is there a big advantage in picture quality in comparing the U.S. with the U.K. release? Any picture comparisons available?

Kind of off topic but are all 4 Terminator Films in the U.K. region free?

Does the U.K. terminator 3 have a slipcover? It would be kind of annoying if 3/4 of my terminator movies have slipcovers and T3 doesn't
