First Dragon Dynasty title? - Blu-ray Forum

Up for preorder for March 2, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. Said to be released by Vivendi, which recently inked a deal with Genius, which releases Weinstein product, which operates Dragon Dynasty, which released the DVD edition. Would presumably be the first Dragon Dynasty release on BD, and perhaps the first release from this Vivendi deal. Here is to many more following swiftly.

Wow, what a perfect movie to choose for the first title to be released from this deal. Hopefully they do a good job on the transfer.

I've avoided Dragon Dynasty's discs like the plague after the Police Story and Hard Boiled catastrophes. Most people from the Pacific Rim don't have pink skin tones. The Hard Boiled aspect ratio screw up was unforgivable.

One should have no faith they'll create a quality Blu-Ray.

A very nice surprise. Great movie and I hope the Blu-ray lives up to that.

Yes!!!! I just watched this movie for the first time the other day, and couldn't stop thinking about how much I want it on blu!

Dragon Dynasty's 'Fist of Legend' (among Jet Li's best, IMO) looks fantastic on dvd...would look phenomenal on Blu.

It may look good but The Weinstein Company saw fit to present the cut US version of Fist of Legend. It would have been even better if it was the original Hong Kong release.

Hard Boiled and Fist of Legend are 2 of the best action movies ever made and i would kill to have them on blu but yeah, DD dropped the ball on both titles.
The Shaw Bros titles however, look beautiful on dvd (or im just used to all the cheap dubbed dvds i had in the past) and will buy all of them up if/when they come out. Didnt Dragon Dynasty put out The Protecter too? would love to have that one.
