Hi,
I rely on autoplay. I leave instructions for guests of my home on how to use the HT and even though it's a fairly simple system, Pilots of SW Airlines can still find it difficult because it's not the traditional HT setup with a setup player and a TV. Anyway... The PS3 auto play function seems to work less often now. Sometimes when I get everything booted up I'm looking at the What's New (which I have dis-abled but it's still there) section of the games menu instead of watching the disc I put in. Anyone else experience something similar? ... It used to be that whenever I put a Blu Ray, DVD, CD, or SACD into the player it would stop whatever it was doing (except if it had a game loaded up or something) and start playing the disc directly but I find myself seeking out the stuff in the menus now. Edit - I actually had the "what's new" thing turned on when I checked... maybe that's why it's acting diffferent. -Brian Last edited by bhampton; 12-06-2009 at 03:13 PM. |

That's actually what I always from Autoplay. I don't want the disc to boot when I first power up because half the time one of my daughters left in some LEGO game. But I'd love for it to launch whatever disc I insert instead of me having to find it and hit X.

I'm curious as to why this kind of update never results in an option.
I would like to be able to put a disc in a powered-off ps3 and have it start up and play it. The way it works is ok if your system is on all the time. |

My autoplay is not working still after I turned off "what's new".
I have a fairly simple setup PS3-AVR-Projector. I used to be able to put in CDs and SACDs and listen to them without having to turn on the projector. This was great because I don't need the projector on to listen to music. I can't do this now. I just tried with a CD. It would not autoplay if I started the system with it. It would not autoplay after I had the system on and then inserted the disc. If I can't fix this I may need another player. Edit - Never mind, I have only had "this" ps3 for a few weeks and there was a CD info lookup license agreement thing that had never been "accepted" yet that was causing the CD not to autoplay. -Brian Last edited by bhampton; 12-08-2009 at 10:36 AM. |
