I wonder why this one is a 2 disc (an obvious second spot for the bonus features disc) but curse and dead mans are only single disc? I don't get their strategy here

It is either that they were not planning to put the bonus disk or they had a rather large number of single steels that they had to use.
Kinda like when Alliance re releases movies such as kill bill and they use a slipcover only to hide the wrinkles at the plastic case.
They don't care about the consumers, they just want to make money.

I just watched the disc tonight and I noticed there was some pretty heavy yellow tinting on the skin tones, especially visible in the last battle of the movie. I guess this problem is inherent to the previous BD release, but it struck me as pretty weird, because you could see the faces turning from white/grey to yellow.

You played the disc in a region B player or do you have a region A player as well?

Oh, I didn't check Pirates 1 & 2 yet Just all the animated Disneys, and was sorely disappointed when it turned out that even my AnyDVD HD won't unlock them

He is referring to the case themselves. The bonus discs for the first two movies are housed in a little paper sleeve.

(a) How long ago did you try them?
(b) If asked for a region, did you enter the DISC's region (NOT your own)?
(c) If NOT asked for a region, did you open AnyDVD HD and enable the proper settings? (It does NOT perform region-code removal on BDs unless you enable it in the Video Blu-ray menu.)
(d) Have you updated your AnyDVD HD lately?
(e) If you've tried all of the above and they still don't work, did you try SlySoft's forums for help?

Disney classic animateds are thus far locked (Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White) but Monsters Inc (though the included DVD is region 1), A Bug's Life and Cars are Region ABC.

Does anybody know where I can get this for $40 or less? Amazon has a couple of them in the $70-$80 price range. Couldn't find them on Ebay or Craigslist.

Not going to happen @ $40, even used ones go for more than that. $70-80 on Amazon is a very good deal, it'll never sell for that low on eBay, unless of course things change.
