Default Why BD Prices are so high?

Why are the BD prices so high after black friday? I mean yeah, Black Friday we had amazing prices, but we now have films that were below $20 even before black friday now selling at $30+. Is there a reason for this? We are getting like $8 price drops on some titles over the past few days, but is there a point in taking prices up SO high and then dropping them off to where they were before just a few days after?

The 300 collector's edition was like a little less than $20 pre-black friday, went to $12.99 and now is above $30. Am I missing something?

Thats just the way it is. They'll go back down if a competitor reduces their prices. Plus its the holiday season and demand for electronics/media is high. The prices will return to normal after the holidays.

Try paying between 25 and 30€ for every single release here (that's between $37 and 44) and then you can complain.

I guess it's just Fanatic said, it's the way it is at the moment.

Hey,

I have the opposite problem. If I look I can always find a Blu Ray I want for $10 or less and at that price I can't usually resist.

I'm waiting for the deals to give me a break.

Yeah,... it was a "sale" and the sale is over. If you didn't buy it at $12.99 then what you're missing is the chance to buy it at $12.99.

There's lots of sales but the same title doesn't go on sale too many times.

Just wait for the opportunity to snack what you want. It especially doesn't have to be new either as far as I'm concerned as I've done well purchasing on the used market with no problems with the quality and playback of the discs.

Yeah there are some great deals, but at the same time, BD disks that were much lower in price usually are now almost at full retail price.

I import a lot from the UK, buy on Amazon.fr and yes, I have considered migrating to the US for a short period, but my studying envies pushed me towards the other side of the world, Australia, where movies are even more expensive!

I should be buying here and shipping to you.

Actually... there must be a way to buy here and have them shipped to you right?

I like to pick up something Blu when I'm on vacation... they super high prices for Blu Ray in Paris or London makes all my others Blu's that I buy here seems like a steal.

Paid $32 US each to have the pleasure of owning the uncut Kung Fu Hustle and Almost Famous on Blu-ray Disc in Thailand at the Boomerang store.

Now, Almost Famous and Kung Fu Hustle uncut are available from Amazon UK under a special promotion. For $28 US, I could have gotten both discs!

No major difference between the two releases aside from the fact that I got the HK release imported to Thailand and if I just waited, I could have gotten the UK releases far more cheaply.

I also paid $25 for P.S. I Love You which I found at Blockbuster a few months later under their 2 for $25 promotion.

Just be glad you don't buy video games because that would blow your mind and wallet.
