Hey everyone
Just a quick question. Recently, I've been watching alot of dvds on my samsung bdp1600. however, some dvds that look fine on any other dvd player look really bad on here. For example, I've been watching the Lionsgate DVD releases of Saw III and VI and they looked AMAZING. They could've passed as blurays. However, when I watched some of BBC's Gavin & Stacey, it was unwatchable. Can somebody explain why this is, and if there are any settings I need to change anywhere? Thanks alot in advance. The quality of DVD upconversion seems to be quite varaible. The quallity of the original DVD transfer will usually affect the quality of the DVD upconversion. My BD player does a good job upconverting DVDs if the original DVD was a good clean transfer. The upconverted image is better than SD 480 but not as good as BD quality.
