Default $100+ for a Steelbook

Anyone think it is worth it to spend well over $100 for a Steelbook? What are your thoughts??

Personally, I don't. And that's why I don't have an Iron Man FS steelbook. I'm in love with that movie, and I'd love to have it in a steelbook; but I'm not an OCD or any other kind of hardcore collector. I collect steelbooks because I think it's fun; they're usually more attractive and unique than the amaray equivalents; but I only collect steelbooks for movies I truly enjoyed.

I'd pay upwards of maybe $90 for an opened (but mint) copy of Iron Man, but I'd never cross the $100 mark. There are better uses for my money than that.

I agree. $100 spent for a SteelBook goes to the hardcore collectors. The most I've paid was $65. I don't think I'll spend that kind of money again for one.

no. absolutely not. That is my barrier. I refuse to pay more than $100 for a steelbook. I have IAL and I'm trading it away for a fair market value exchange

I'm glad I didn't really enjoy I Am Legend that much; I wouldn't want to be interested in it, lol. The current auctions I've seen on eBay range from $350-$400. That's insane for a simple movie.

One reason I will never own a rambo.... I had I am Legend, sold it and kept the German one. I have both Iron Man's and keeping them since I am rather fond of both designs

For now I've compromised and I'm currently satisfied with the 27x40 Iron Man advance theatrical poster I've got framed in my TV room, lol. It was the art used as the basis for the steelbooks (though FS flipped the image).

my limit is around $50, which is really low when were talking about rambo's and the like, but not when we're talking about 1 BD in a pretty case

i dont understand why all these countries (canada, uk, germany, france, japan) are on the ball with puttin out steelbooks but here in the u.s. they dont release crap. only some disney sb's and a random one every once in awhile. if futureshop does it why cant bestbuy?? doesnt make sense to me

Germany is too on the ball. They're pumping them out left and right for every movie (some good, most truly awful) that seems to come up. If they keep it up, German releases won't feel very unique anymore.

I'm glad I only collect the Future Shop releases, personally. I'm quite pleased with how Future Shop's been handling steelbooks, on the whole. Nearly all have been good (or great) movies, and the cover art has always been quite pleasant to look at compared to the amaray release.

Its only $100 dude.. Go Get it rather than torturing yourself thinking when will you get it.

You spending $100 for an Ironman steelbook today - its nothing compare to what I spent on Iron Man ( All North American Release ) last year (and given it the release date).

So its only $100... GO GET IT

If you really really like something dont be stupid letting a day pass by not obtaining it.. Life is Short!
