Default Need some advice: Panasonic 50G10 or Sony 46W?

I'm going to buy a new display for the bedroom, and currently we own a Sony KDL52XBR6 (which we love), but don't require that much display for the master bedroom. So, I've been looking at the following TVs:

Panasonic Plasma 50G10
Sony Bravia KDL46W5100

I realize by posting this in the Plasma section I'm going to get some comments regarding comparing the Panasonic to an LCD display, but what I'm looking for are tips and things to look for that might help me out, since I've only ever owned DLP and LCD HDTVs in the past.

For reference, this TV will be hooked up to a DirecTV HDDVR, Blu-Ray player (not sure which yet, was going to get that Best Buy PS3 deal, but the Christmas bonus didn't come in time), and perhaps an XBox. Mainly it will be used to watch movies at night, and Football during the season when the wife has her friends over on the weekends.
