Default Wizard of Oz: UCE Boxset - Big $$ Collector's Item down the line?

What do you think? These were limited to 245,000 sets... mine is in the 45000s... will this be a big money item once it goes OOP? Or will they just start to manufacture more w/o #s?

My experience is anything I have isn't worth money.

LOL

That being said if it is sealed it might be worth something in 2039 for the 100th Anniversary.

People will say... WOW it isn't hologram 3d with feedback?

That'd be 2039, actually. I have a #126 sealed and have opened a Target Emerald Edition to watch after the $12.99 black friday sale. Will my box be worth anything? Possibly not, but since it was a gift, the worst case is that I'll have a nice gift for my nephew, neice, or my own kids down the line.

You realize that 245000 is not exactly "limited". It's a huge print run.

Did you ever buy a Special Edition VHS take with booklet, movie still and other trinkets? Is it worth anything now?

Items that have gone up in value are vintage items that came out BEFORE anyone thought to collect then (ie: vintage books, Beatles Vinyl, etc>) These weren't limited editions and nobody thought to keep them in prestine condition. Now, everyone does it. Supply >> Demand.

Probably not.

None of the video content is exclusive, save for the digital copy, which has a dubious value to many. The paper goods are not vintage, just reprints.

The only videos that ever end up collectable are those that are discontinued and otherwise unavailable, and as WoZ had been released in at least 3 editions on Blu now I don't think scaricty of the film is going to be a key factor.
