Default Need Assistance selecting an LCD tv

Merry Christmas everyone,

I am going shopping tomorrow for an LCD tv and I needed some advice. I have decided on a 52-inch tv and I think I have settled on Samsung for the brand. I have read a lot of good reviews and information about the current line of Samsung televisions. I am now left with the task of deciding between 60 Hz and 120 Hz. My family and I don't watch sports that often nor do we have high definition cable television. I notice that when I am in Best Buy, the movies all look like they have the soap opera effect. I have been told this is due to the 120 Hz technology. Would you guys go with a 120 Hz television over a 60 Hz? Also, does anyone know the difference between the Samsung LN52B610 and the LN52B630?

actually there was a study that was done and there was a thread on it somewhere around here, but it basically showed that there is no reason to buy a 120 or 240 hz TV. You will be fine with a mid-higher 60hz LCD. The 5 Series will be a fine TV and may help you save some money. Look for the B550 if you can find it. If you go with the 6 series just make sure that you keep the Motion Flow turned off
