Default Multiple Releases

The greed of the studios, ah. I see that Stargate 15th anniversary has been released, just after I buy the first BD release, didn't know that a remastered version with more extras was looming. They really have us by the, well I won't say it. We are dying to upgrade our collection and snatching up what they are churning out just to have them release a better version later. Master and Commander BD release, extras wise was a dud. I have the special edition which has many extras on it. JFK appears to be also a dud, I went for the special book edition that came out at the same time that included a couple of extra DVDs. Has there ever been a release of The Hunt For Red October with extras that justify the greatness of this story/book?

The worse quality transfer I have seen so far is Ghostbusters. Horrible artifacts. Casino Royale, and 300, second releases with many more extras. I would rather wait a few months for a better release, both in extras and quality. At least include the extras on the best regular DVD releases on the initial BD release so we can sell those old DVDs.

So far there have been a few releases that got it right the first time, such as Patton, Zodiac, and The Godfather Collection. But it seems that the ones that get it right on initial release are in the minority. I get its part of their business model to feed as many versions to the public as possible, but it just ticks me off sometimes.
