Finally completed my Polk Audio Home Theatre system with the addition of the Polk CSi A6 center channel!
Next upgrades: - Sub/Surround speaker risers (DIY) - New bigger/higher end TV possibly Then I'll enjoy this system for a while until I'm ready (read: can afford) to upgrade to a newer system and retire my Polks. ![]() Uploaded pictures can be found here: https://www.blu-ray.com/community/ga...member=Rike255 HT Features the following equipment: - Sony BRAVIA KDL-46V5100 - Onkyo TX-SR805 - Polk Audio RTi 8 (fronts) - Polk Audio RTi A6 (center) - Polk Audio RTi A3 (surrounds) - Polk Audio PSW505 (subwoofer) - Sony Playstation 3 Slim 120GB |

Everything is the same but I added the CSi A6 center speaker. HUGE difference than just using the fronts without a center. I knew it was an important speaker, but I didn't think it would make that big a difference. I'm loving it!

Congrats Rike, that is one excellent performer and you have some really nice speakers too. Makes me rethink about upgrading to it since I am quite dissappointed with my CS10 at this time.....but I have one last tweak I want to do before "giving up" on the CS10......

I hear ya, I love my CSi5 so I know you are loving your center too! Oh and Yes, it does make a hugh difference when watching movies with a large center like that one.

One of the best parts is the balance that I get between effects/music and dialogue now. Late night movie watching is so much more enjoyable now that I don't have to constantly hold the remote for volume adjusting.

Sorry for bumping this back up, but i wanted to ask how you like the CSiA6 + RTi8 combination, Rike? Does your front soundstage blend together fairly seamlessly?
I'm hunting for a CSi5 currently which is nearly impossible to find now, to replace my CSi3.. I've got 4 RTi8's all the way around and would like the bigger center for a better match all around. It still sounds great as is, but a perfect match is what i'm after now. I've found out the hard way that matching your center and fronts really is the most important thing to consider in home theatre. (i should have listened to all those forum posts in the first place..!) ![]() Your system looks great, btw! I too have the same problem with a gas fireplace in the corner, mine sits lower than yours though, and I haven't had any problems with speaker damage (yet!) ![]() To forsberg; i can sympathize, I'm actively trying to sell my CS10 on Kijiji locally as it did NOT go well at all with either the RTi8's OR the monitor 50's i have. (similar to your T-90 series, i believe.) It didn't matter what i did, i just couldn't make it sound good. I guess when Polk says they timbre match each series they aren't kidding.. the CS10 stuck out like a sore thumb. Maybe it sounds just fine with the TSi series but those are just an overpriced re-dux of the monitor series imo.. |
