Lost Season 5, disc 5 playback issues? - Blu-ray Forum

Not sure if this is an isolated issue with my blu-ray, if this is an error in all disc 5 blu-rays, or if this was intended...but in the later half of the season finale the commercial breaks (the black screens) go on a lot longer. It was pretty annoying.

I didn't notice that, but I have to say I wasn't really looking. Can you bring up the time-bar and see if the time spent on a black screen is actually part of the episode? I.e., does the time continue to increase normally during the black screen (30 minutes 1 second, 30 minutes 2 seconds, etc.), or does it stop and pause for some amount of time?

This does not appear to be a disk issue. If this is occurring (I didn't notice it when I watched disc 5 - but, I wasn't looking for this either), then it would have to be the way the show was originally edited.

I know how the show is edited. However, in every season I've owned they would only fade to black for the "commercial breaks" for less than a second...and in the season finale it lasts for about 3 or 4.
