If I were you, I'd wait and see how the UK Disc being distributed by EiV holds up against the american disc. Then you can compare the two if anything differs and if one of the discs is better.

Maybe the most disappointing horror film of 2009.

The question was, out of the UK and US Discs, what was the best one to pick up.

This is one of those situations where like the first one I think I prefer the theatrical cut. And of course, just like the first only the inferior director's cut is being released on Blu-ray in the US.

Thats not my point. This thread is specifically focused on which version of Halloween 2 to buy on BD. If you would like to voice your opinions on the film, I suggest you head over to the Halloween 2 thread where I am sure there are people who would agree with you, but this thread is not the place.

Btw, where did you get the idea that the UK release is going to be the theatrical cut? I hope not by the runtime listed on Amazon.com. As their product details for Blu-ray are always wrong and just a copy and paste job from the DVD release.

Everything I've read has stated the UK also is getting the Director's Cut.

was wondering the same thing but next weeks flyers should be out soon usually by thursday or friday. I do plan on picking up this movie not sure if i want the SD DVD with the theater cut(which i actually didnt mind it was different I will give it that not the best movie but entertaining and watchable IMO) or the blu with the directors cut

I'm afraid it will be a tough choice for you op. The dc has some good added dialog that makes for a better movie, but the theatrical is the better one I think. Now I haven't seen the dc all the way through so I can't say for sure, but I have seen both endings, and I was kind of shocked by the dc ending.

Oh, and I hate thread crappers. If you don't like the movie, voice your opinion in the review thread.

Is there an echo in here?

Chances are $24.99 will be the cheapest you will be able to get it for on release day.
