Default Smallville Season 6 - Pre-release buzz!!

Thought there should be one place where everyone who's psyched about this release can come and express their thoughts and opinions (and excitement!)

Personally for me, this is the biggest release on Blu-ray so far! Season 5 would have been... had it actually been released on Blu!

So message away people, discuss, discuss.

I'm really interested in what you all think of the news of having 1 disc less than HD DVD and reasons why we get 4 discs when the content could fit on 3 (according to HD DVD space limits). I personally am hoping for better encodes... far fetched wish mabe? Also interested on your thoughts on possible episode denominations on the discs... maybe 6, 6, 5, 5?

Everything and anything Smallville welcome, that includes speaking up about wanting seasons 1-5 on Blu lol!

7 weeks today... 49 days...

I proeordered it a week or two ago. Cant wait.

Big Smallville fan here, but the only past season I would really care for on BD is Season 5. I cant explain why I really wouldnt care for the earlier stuff, but oh well.

Saw a few episodes. Not a fan of it. Not sure why the show took off though.

Since I've never really watched this show, the only way I would buy it is if they released Season 1.

Smallville Season 6 is the first TV show I'm really looking forward to on Blu-ray. I had two other 24 Season 1 & Stargate Atlantis Season 1 but Fox disappear taking MGM with them. Maybe we'll hear something soon.

I would buy Season 1-5 of Smallville if they would come on Blu-ray. I'm still a little mad that Season 5 is on HD-DVD and not on Blu-ray.

For me Season 5&6 are the best season so far.

Transcoded the Season 6 HighDef broadcast MKV files in 720p x264 into mp4 files to play on the PS3.... They look great, but I would definately have to buy the BD set.

While 720p looks fine on my 60" 1080i set, I eventually will get a 1080p set, and will be fully able to take advantage of the extra resolution.

Just to let you know Supergirl was not in Season 6. She'll be appearing in Season 7

Really, you haven't gotten into Weeds? Talk about a great show (from what I can remember, j/k). I watched Season 1 straight through with my roommates, and now we are on Season 2. I can't rave about the show enough. It's so funny and fu#%ed up at the same time. I'm totally hooked on it.

Never watch Weeds, It's on my list from Netflix. So yes, Smallville Season 6 is the first TV show that I'm looking forward to buying on Blu-ray.

Before buying my PS3, I read Stargate Atlantis Season 1 was going to be one of the first TV shows on Blu-ray so honestly that was my first show, but that show disappeared.

Just researched the season 6 release a bit more today for any new facts, and the WB online shop has the episode listings per disc!!

Blu-ray (4 discs - 4/6/6/6):
Disc One: Zod/Sneeze/Wither/Arrow
Disc Two: Reunion/Fallout/Rage/Static/Subterranean/Hydro
Disc Three: Justice/Labryinth/Crimson/Trespass/Freak/Promise
Disc Four: Combat/Progeny/Nemesis/Noir/Prototype/Phantom

With 6 episodes per disc for discs 2-4 I sure as hell hope the encoding is darn good! I REALLY don't wanna see the same troubles that plagued the HD DVD season 5 collection!!

For retrospective, here's the HD DVD episode listing (5 discs - 3/4/5/5/5):
Disc One: Zod/Sneeze/Wither
Disc Two: Arrow/Reunion/Fallout/Rage
Disc Three: Static/Subterranean/Hydro/Justice/Labryinth
Disc Four: Crimson/Trespass/Freak/Promise/Combat
Disc Five: Progeny/Nemesis/Noir/Prototype/Phantom

When you're talking about Smallville, you can't even think about the future Superman because of the little things. Like how everybody is going to get their memory wiped because Superman doesn't have much of a disguise without his glasses and his arch-nemesis knows what he looks like without them. Or how he's already taken on a few his enemies that he could only do as Superman. But I am certainly willing to look past that because it's freakin' Superman, man!!! Who doesn't like Superman?!?!?!

Lots of people. Lots of people I wouldnt want to know IRL,

I understand there are a lot of Superman haters out there, but the vocal hatred fo the show is uncalled for for the most part. I just like to think of it as an Elseworld's story.

I personally love superman but I don't think of Smallville as "how he became superman", more just as a different way of telling the story. I just imagine I don't know who he'l turn out to be, just what he's doing now as young Clark Kent.
