Default Recommend some Anime/hand drawn animation

Just watched origins spirits within or something like that. Really enjoyed it.

Anymore anime/manga/animation that I can enjoy on blu?

Among the very best available as of yet are Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Wings of Honneamise and Paprika. You might have not seen Paprika yet, if that's the case order it as soon as possible.

Spirits Within? As in Final Fantasy: Spirits Within? Isn't that CG?

Thanks for the suggestions. I already have the Disney stuff mentioned. I am looking more for something that is up to date that has a pop to it. The disc that I watched is the one attached.

If you enjoyed Origin (Gin-iro no kami no Agito), then I can certainly recommend Paprika: visually more impressive than Origin and with an interesting story. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Escaflowne is a wonderful movie with a lucious soundtrack. I don't think it matters if you watch the tv series or not since it mainly stands alone.

Default Paprika

Not to much anime available for the time being (for UK marked at least).

I'm really looking forward to Hayao Miyazaki's movies comes to blu.

In the meantime I will also recommend Paprika. Not great, but good. Awesome soundtrack as well.

The awesome wacky song from Paprika was just used recently in some car commercial.

Other foreign Animation on Blu:

Kirikou et la sorcière (France) (and the French Blu-Ray has the excellent English dub as well)

If you don't mind some adult-rated sci-fi, I would reccomend (all on BD):

"Akira," my personal favorite anime film
"Ghost in the Shell"
"Escaflowne: The Movie," worthwhile seeing at least once (I like the TV show a little better though)

"Paprika" and "Tekkon Kinkreet" are good, if not weird, and I'm not sure if I'd reccomend them to casual viewers. I also really enjoy both "Final Fantasy" movies, "Resident Evil: Degeneration," "Waltz With Bashir," and "The Animatrix," but they're not hand-drawn anime specifically. "Persepolis" is alright too (but once again, I don't think it's hand-drawn).

Just as a side note, I don't know what country you're from (this being the international forum), but beware of any Anime Blu-rays from 'Funimation' - they are Region locked.

LOVE this film! Saw it in SD and it was beautiful so I can only say that in HD it would be just as great.
