Wolfgang Peterson's Poseidon finally comes to Blu-ray Disc this April 6th from Warner and it includes all the extras from the HD DVD release including the In-Movie Experience.

The film is presented in 1080p 2.4:1 Widescreen and DTS-HD Master Audio English 5.1 Surround.

Really liked this movie, can't wait to get it on blu. Had it on HD DVD but that was only Dolby 5.1.

Def buy for me. My wife is a HUGE disaster flick fan, so movies like this are right up her alley. Some great scenes in this one that should look great in Blu. Thanks for the heads up, OP.

Whatever happened to the rumored extended cut of this? I'd be curious to see a different cut of this movie.

But it looks like we're getting screwed on a release of the long-rumored director's cut (which was very close to being released on DVD a few years back, but was pulled without explanation at the 11th hour). This is a film that could benefit markedly from some more early character development.

I have it on HD DVD also. This should be a good upgrade. Will this be a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack???

Its just the Blu-ray Disc and according to the back cover at DVDActive.com: it also has both Parisian and Canadian French Dolby 5.1 tracks (!).

I really liked this movie a lot-- I know it was heavily edited prior to release which made the pacing a lot faster (didn't have the typical endless first half of character development before the disaster hits).
I would like to have a blu-ray with the directors cut as well though-- maybe I would still prefer the theatrical version but I'd like to see both!

Yay can't wait for this. I bought The Poseidon Adventure because it was the closest thing to it. And it sucked. Sucked terribly. Pardon my French but my God was it bad!

I loved this movie, and truly cannot understand why it didn't do better at the box office. True, the character development was lacking, but the special effects and non-stop action were pretty awesome and nerve-wracking, IMO. A day one purchase for me.

I liked this movie. Good cast, very suspenseful. I never did pick up the HD DVD, so a blu-ray purchase may be in my future.
