They look nice and are 3-D ready but not interested. Why? Just bought my tv about a month and a half ago and there is no way I will plunk down more cash for another tv. They way it sounds to veiw this new 3-D thing you will need a new tv and a new Blu ray player to watch 3-D movies so you might say you will need a complete overhaul of your home theater system. Sorry but I am not game. But again great looking tv's from Sony and I hope they sell a bunch of them and I am sure they will.

The PS3 can be software updated to play 3D, new 3D blu ray players out this summer. Also thanks OP for calling them LED LCD tv's because thats what they are, im tired of seeing and reading Samsung/LG etc LED TV's, if that was the case I would call a normal LCD a CCFL TV.

I read about that mmunro but what bothers me is that a person also needs a whole new tv to veiw this new 3-D technology. Sucks really but thats how it is. I really hope this 3-D idea works for Sony and the other manufacturers that are involved because I would hate to see them lose tons of money if it fails. If I would have been Sony and others I would have waited awhile for the Blu ray format to grow bigger. But thats just me.

+1..also hate those 3d glasses

I agree that switching again to a whole new set up (for 3d) is quiet impossible..wondering how much they gonna cost ?? ..but got to admire the line up..pretty interesting.

sony reps at their booth said that there is no XBR 11 and 12. its all letters now. i was surprised to see that the new sonys have glossy screens!! they are deffinitely tryin to get some of the market share that Samsung has gained with their "ultra clear panels". they def look nice,i've never been a fan of matte finish so im liking the new sonys...they just need to work on those viewing angles- blacks look purple from the side or if you look at the tv from above (or under),and i know thats a weakness that every led lcd still suffers from but the sonys seemed to show that a little more than lets say the samsungs, the new sharps or the new LG leds (as much as i've never liked LGs their new Infinia LEDs are unbelievable)

So no more XBR's? And whats with the the glossy screens? If there is one thing that would be a turn off to me about a tv it would be the glossy screen and why? To much reflexion. And when you have your tv in a bright room with alot of windows that would be a problem and thats why I dont own one. But if Sony has taken the glossy screen look from Samsung that only tells me they are trying to catch up to the Joneses and that Samsung has the edge on them. To me Sony always has been in a league of their own and they dont need to copy someone elses design.

he new LGs,Sharps and Toshibas also have glossy screens actually even in a bright showroom they all looked pretty damn impressive so glare isnt as big of an issue anymore. Samsung has been outselling Sony for a few years now so its normal for sony to try different things. there was even talk about them closing a factory in Mexico because of all the losses they had in TVs last year.

They're describing the LX900 as a XBR model. Straight from Sony itself:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBd5ON0OV54

I think I will invest in a LX900 myself this summer. The only screen which has the emitter integrated into the frame (the other 3D compatible models has to purchase it separately and attach it to the top).

Expect it to be pretty expensive. The KDL-46NX800 will cost: $US2,800
I'm guessing $3000-3500 for a XBR-40LX900.
