Blu-ray website asking for a fax of c.card (back & front) and latest statement - Blu-ray Forum

Just read a post from someone who placed a blu-ray order with dvdworld.com.br

They asked him to fax them a copy of the front and back of his credit card, and a copy of his latest credit card statement.

Was that usual, or was that an attempt at fraud/theft??

No company should ever need that information, nor should anyone give them it.

That does not sound normal at all! I order off the internet all the time and if someone asked that from me I would be very hesitant to order from them, no matter the deal...

I guess that this is one Brazilian online retailer to definetly avoid.

I ordered a dvd from the states once, had to fax my credit card details... dvd arrived and was charged the right amount. Halloween 6: The Producers Cut. cannot recall the company site though...

Does anyone know of any other Brazilian sites? This seems to be the only place listing this country-exclusive blu-ray. Maybe it doesn't even exist, and this is all an elaborate scheme designed to rip-off hardcore Argento fans from around the globe.
