Default Dualshock 3 Battery died...

Got one of the first DS3's available... and the internal battery finally gave up the ghost.

Checked the stickies, but no tips about this.

Anyone got a reliable source for a replacement battery pack?

You should buy a new controller. When the battery dies, you have to replace it.

Not true, you can buy replacements

Look in the controller manual, it will tell you how to change out the battery

Good find. I was unaware you could replace the battery too.

I swapped the battery from my Sixaxis to the DS3 as a temp.

Same voltage, same plug, same mAh rating. Just a different size of battery, which. The DS3 uses a plastic bracket to fit the smaller battery to the housing.

I've seen batteries on the web, and I've done the swap. I just wanted to know if anyone had a reliable source that they've used.

And disassembling the controller isn't rocket science either. If anyone doesn't feel up to removing 5 screws and wants to toss their controller, by all means send it to me

Thankyou for the link.

Have you used that brand of battery and/or retailer before?

No I've never dealt with a dead battery. There was 1 review on that site though, and he said it worked great in his DS3
