United Kingdom Bourne Trilogy Amazon UK- Region Free

I have just emailed Universal pictures UK to see if they can shed some light on the matter. It seems there is little motivation to buy a trilogy for what is now a large sum of cash for UK residents.

The £ is now approximately $1.33. The lowest its ever been in my lifetime.

You can buy it from playusa.com for £40 delivered + approx £12-£15 customs fee's.

The Bourne Trilogy Blu-ray

The Australian Version is suppose to come out on March 4. Since I believe Universal uses the same disks for UK and Australia, I would think it would come out sometime around March as well.

i have been buying blu-ray and hd-dvds from playusa.com for few years now and have 5 box sets of 3 discs or more on blu-ray from them and 4 on hd-dvd and never have i been hit with custom charges i will always use playusa because of this, the only time i ever got charged from customs was about 2-3 years ago with a dvd boxset but i ordered that off ebay

i do agree though it does not seem right we in the uk are always last to get titles thats the main reason i bought a usa ps3 instead of uk model

Well the problem is, its a trilogy. So if you get hit, its going to be hard. The average is about £12 I think. So if your happy with that, go right ahead. If playusa put the receipt on the outside, you will definitely get hung from your balls. If not, then you'll get away with it.

I brought firefly box set and it got caught. I had to payed £8 royal mail handeling fee for them just to put a sticker on it and payed less than they royal mail handeling fee for VAT.

If play mark it as gift you get upto £36. They marked mine as gift. After that royal mail will rob you for VAT and there own £8 handeling fee.

If it is not marked as gift then over £18 then royal mail will rob you again.

Under £18 Play UK seem to do all importing and shipping.

Sadly Customs don't accept "gift" from any retail source any more, only from private sources. Big retailers like Amazon and Play have packages recognised by customs.

But the good news is that at some point the duty free allowance is due to raise, perhaps to over £100. This is because in theory its costing HM Customs more money in manpower to police the low £18 limit than they make in profit. Remember, Customs only gets the VAT and Import Duty, its the Royal Mail who make out like a bandit. Also remember the £18 limit was set ages ago, and inflation will have in real-terms dramatically lowered the limit.

That said, since I read about the increase duty free for 2009, I've not seen anything else so it may have dropped off the agenda.

It was supposed to be an EU wide policy with all countries upping their duty free limit to the same value. Although of course, any package shipped within the EU to another EU country is except from import duty and domestic taxes (but local taxes must be paid at the source during purchase).

D'oh Looks like it's already happened! Import Duty is dropped but VAT still applies to items over £18 - so the saving won't be that great, especially with Royal Mail's "admin" fees.

it seems that the bourne release's will be individual releases and not as a trilogy, on amazon.co.uk it has them down for a release on the 30th March,

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bourne-Ident...2925378&sr=8-4

if you look at product details it states the date, its just that it is not available for pre-order, it also has Sin City down for release on the 18th May.

I went with Playusa at any rate. It's still cheaper than any of the other options, even if it does get slapped with customs.
