Ninja (2009) - Blu-ray Forum

I was at my local Blockbuster last night and noticed a movie I forgot about when it was in theaters. I never saw it but the first time I saw the previews, it seemed pretty cool.

Blockbuster has a sign on the New Release wall displaying the movie and is available this Friday, Jan 15th, but according to blu-ray.com, the movie is to be released on blu on 3/9/2010

Any idea who's right and whether for sure BB will have it tomorrow?

EDIT: The sign at BB shows "available this Friday" for both DVD and blu-ray.

This movie was never in theaters, it's a direct-to-video piece of crap.

You must be thinking of Ninja Assassin.

Never heard of it....maybe it will be release on DVD on 01/15....

Ninja Assassin was a mixed bag, IMO. The Ninja parts were really cool, but I wasn't digging the whole FBI tie-in. Those characters, along with the whole "She has a special heart" thing just felt kinda blech.

I'll probably pick it up when I can find it for ~15 or so, though.

its a BB exclusive. it will be available friday at BB, but as others have posted it is a pretty bad flick.

i think i`ll skip that one as well, but i am definitely waiting for ninja assassin.
read it ws suppose to be out march 9th, i am surprised there hasn`t been
any official announcement yet!?

okay these are two different movies. This Ninja is a direct to video movie, it's probably the crappy one. I did see Ninja Assassin in the theater, now that was really good and it is heading on blu in March I believe. The Assassin one was produced buy the W brothers from Matrix, IMHO it was a very cool movie and a keeper, it has Sho Kosugi in it!!!

I wasnt sure if I wanted to spend $19.99 or $14.99 on a blind buy and the movie went straight to dvd/blu so I was on the edge but $9.99 is alot more better to blind buy on.So I think ill pick it up this time

I figured this film would be utter shitte but blind bought on Ebay for about $7 shipped.

It was more entertaining then I thought it would be and reminded me of the old 1980s Sho Kosugi ninja films. Decent mindless entertainment and Scott Adkins (Deadpool from Wolverine and Undisputed II and III) did a decent job.

I rented this after hearing some good things about it, but I couldn't watch it. Horrible acting, horrible script, I ended up fast forwarding to all of the fight scenes and even those were pretty meh. Terrible film imo

For those who haven't seen either, Ninja Assassin was pretty ridiculous but it's a lot better than Ninja.

That movie was ridiculous, but I did buy Ninja today for $10 at BB. I had to... I like the cover.

The title of this movie is vague. One of the studios should create a high budget Ninja Gaiden movie.

If you go in with low expecctation ala old 1980s cheesy ninja movies like American Ninja or Gymkata, you will pretty much get just that.

If you hold this up to a better more recent film, like Ninja Assassin, you will be disappointed.

If you just finished watching Ong Bak or Fist of Legend, you will shut it off after like 5 mins.
