Default Six Feet Under Boxsets

I saw that there are two versions of the Six Feet Under Boxsets, but what is the difference between the two other than the boxes? I know the larger one is discontinued or whatever, but people still have them to sell. For those who have either one, which is the best to get?

I would wait for the BD release, but since there is no word of it yet, I thought I'd get it now.

I have the larger set. It comes with the individual seasons in their original folding paper packaging that they could be bought in individually, i actually prefer the larger because it has a cooler look in my opinion.

I'll bet ya that a Blu-Ray set for "Six Feet Under" is somewhere on the horizon. HBO has already released some great shows like "Rome" and "Band of Brothers;" if they do more catalogue releases, "Six Feet Under" and "Deadwood" would be the next most popular choices.

I hope so, I'm kinda surprised it hasn't been released yet or at least have more talk about it considering how many people liked the show. I started S1 maybe 2 months ago, watched about 7 episodes but couldn't completely get into it. But I was so tempted to try again, about four more times. Then I started watching episodes from S5 and I wanted to continue watching, but all of sudden they stopped showing episodes from S5 but it wasn't the finale.

So I wanted to start over. Should I just wait?

I cant wait for the Blu-ray release for these either, I hope they will come. I started watching during the wait for Dexter season 3, and I really loved the series. I dont intend on watching all of them again soon, but I will definitely get them on Day 1 if they ever make it to Blu.

I'd say get whichever is cheaper... unless you are concerned about space, in which case get the new one.

True, although I think the original box of the first season was bigger than the rest, so that one isn't identical. I can't compare anymore, because I gave away my standalone first season box, when I ordered the complete series box.

Through eBay I could get the larger set for about $89 or something around that price, and on Amazon for $84 for the smaller set. I might just get the larger set and once released on Blu-ray, if I like it enough to wanna watch again, I'll sell and re-buy. I'll sleep on it for a little while.

It seems to randomly go on sale. Last year, in late January, Amazon had it for $59.

Target, I think, had it for $69 a few weeks ago.

It's still a good deal for $85. I would've paid more.

Yeah that's part of the reason why I wanna wait off on getting it, because I saw a thread for it being $74 at some point. But is that for the newer set that Target and Best Buy have?

I honestly don't know. I've never seen the newer set in any stores around here (like at Target) so I imagine the sale price would've applied to either.

Yeah I looked at Target today but they had absolutely nothing TV show wise. Best Buy's says it's like $150?

Haha he's the reason why I wanted to watch. The only reason I couldn't get into it is because of Brenda, that woman bothers me for whatever reason. But since I watched a later season, she didn't seem to bother me so much like before. And I stopped watching basically when Nate was wondering if Brenda started the fire and all that.

I bought the sets as they came out for my girlfriend as various presents. They sure were expensive back then... $75 or more each. Excellent show with one of the greatest series finales in TV history.

I won't disagree with that; the finale was better than what I would have considered perfect, very sastifying...stunning. I own the original set and I am very happy with it. I haven't watched my DVDs since seeing the finale, but a BD double dip would be a good excuse to revisit the series.

Dexter is good, but I think SFU is on another level.

I'm still only on the first season, but I think no matter what I'll like Dexter better.

I don't even know if people need to do that for HBO to get the point that people want SFU. For the most part, I've read a lot of people wanting it to be on BD. I'm sure it'll happen soon. Since it was one of their biggest shows, it should happen. Now it's Entourage and The Sopranos so that might be the focus point.
