Default Adding another HD DirecTV box?

Alright.. well I have a really old SD box from DirecTV, and on 1080p it looks like completely dung.

If I was to get another box, would it cost more monthly? My dad thought because we already pay for a box down here and he pays for HD, it wouldn't cost anymore. Is that true? If so, recommendations on boxes from eBay?

If your getting your service from them and paying for hd service that your basically not getting gettin due to the box being a non hd box you should call them and have it replaced thru them it wont cost anything

They will generally give you one HD box for free. Maybe two if you've been with them forever and are a great negotiator. Need more beyond that, you can buy them at select brick and mortars for $100, but it does require adding two years to your agreement.

Dude if u never had HD service u gonna need a new sat dish and upgrade to HD for 10 dollas more a month, so over all for the new dish might be expensive but monthly wise it's jus ten more, and on a sd receiver u can't get HD signal so ur 1080p doesn't look bad cus ur not even watchn 1080p.

I just swapped a DirecTV SD receiver for an HD receiver.

What you need to do is order the HD receiver using your account number. They're a little over $100 from DirecTV after tax. Then when you get it hooked up you call them and tell that you're upgrading from and SD receiver to an HD receiver. They'll as you for some numbers. After that they'll remove the SD receiver charge from your bill and replace it with another HD receiver fee. No matter what you pay an additional $5 for receiver. Doesn't matter if it's SD or HD. As for the SD receiver, you keep that.

To sort some things out: My dad has an HD box upstairs and we already have an HD dish. Sorry for that, I should have said that from the start.

That's why I was wondering if it would add more a month for another HD box. And also, we have been with them for as long as I can remember.. I'm only 16.
