Default WATCHMEN Ultimate Edition question

I want this, but with the current price of the Directors Cut ($16.99 on Amazon) and the price you can pick up "Tales of the Black Freighter" ($6 new on the Amazon marketplace), I'm having a hard time justifying picking it up. It doesn't seem like I'm be missing much by not buying them individually.

Any advice out there?

Really, the only thing you'd be missing are:

- Splicing of "Tales of the Black Freighter" into the Director's Cut version of the movie
- The motion comic

I'd go your route if I hadn't already snagged it for $30 on Black Friday.

The director's cut also is lacking the "ultimate cut" exclusive audio commentary. Instead, the Director's Cut has an exclusive "maximum movie mode", which is sort of like a picture-in-picture commentary with optional behind-the-scenes featurettes available throughout the film.

I remember reading the amazon preview and it said that the Ultimate Edtn also had a live action Wonder Woman teaser trailer. Is this true? How does it look?

Don't remember about the trailer as haven't been through the extras yet but as far as I remember there are a few more extra scenes in the Ultimate edition over the DC.

The UC is 251 min
The DC is 186 min
Tales of the Black Freighter is 26 min

So theres about half an hour, can't remember myself as there was a fair bit of time between seeing the DC and UC. I'm sure someone who knows will put me right on that though...

I found this on Amazon:

Disc 1
- Watchmen, the Ultimate Cut (1080p/VC-1 Transfer, 215min)
- Commentary from Zac Snyder and Dave Gibbons (Explains everything from prop inspirations to plot alterations)
- BD Live

Disc 2
- The Phenomenon: The Comic That Changed Comics (HD 25min)
- Real Super Heroes, Real Vigilantes (HD 26min)
- Mechanics: Technologies of a Fantastic World (HD 17min)
- Watchmen: Video Journals (HD 36mmin)
- Under the Hood (HD 38min)
- Story Within a Story: The Books of Watchmen (HD 36min)
- My Chemical Romance, 'Desolation Row' Music Video (HD, 3min)

Disc 3
- Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comics (1080p/VC-1 Transfer, 325).
- Watchmen Video Journal, Dave Gibbons (HD 3min)
- Wonder Woman Sneak Peak (SD 10min)

Disc 4
- Bonus Digital Copy (Not Blu-ray)- Digital Copy of the Theatrical Version. (Not Blu-Ray, Expires November 2010)

WARNING:
- Disc 1 does not include 'Watchmen' WITHOUT 'the Black Freighter' integrated. The digital copy may somewhat compensate for this, but if you're still not satisfied, you'll have to purchase the 'Director's Cut' and 'the Black Freighter' separetely.

So 3 extra minutes of what?

Guess that would be the bits connecting the comic to the film, shots of it being read and going into it. Thought it was more then that but so be it.

It's a 10 min featurette on the (at the time) upcoming Wonder Woman animated movie (released early last year).
