Yamaha RX-V465 or Sony STR-DH800

I recently purchased a Yamaha RX-V465 and it sounds much better than my old receiver but it just doesn't sound as good as I thought it would, I really wanted the Sony STR-DH800 at the time but it was just out of my price range and read that the Yamaha was the better choice at around $300. Now the Sony is down to $300 at Best Buy where I had purchased the Yamaha originally and its still under the 30 day return, is the Sony's sound quality much better? I originally had a Sony and loved it, it would be nice to get another but only if its worth it.
