Everybody's Fine- No Blu?? - Blu-ray Forum

Currently coming out on DVD on 2/23 but no blu-ray has been announced.

I can't believe there are still theatrical releases that aren't getting released on blu... I don't understand the logic seeing that new releases are consistently drawing 10%+ of sales on blu.

And above all...t makes me angry because it means i will have to watch the DVD

It would be odd if this didn't come on Blu-ray since it's from Miramax which is owned by Disney, and they have been among the best at releasing their movies on Blu-ray. Maybe they decided that a movie that is aimed at older people and bombed at the box office wouldn't have strong Blu sales.

Yeah but if you read my post you would've seen that it's coming out on DVD on 2/23

Yeah, that is a bummer if it's not coming to blu-ray. I loved the cast in this film - De Niro, Sam Rockwell, Drew Barrymore and Kate Beckinsale.

I'd say keep an eye out on imports. Maybe a release from Alliance in Canada, if they distributed the film there.

I will be importing if Canada gets it. I really was surprised with this film. VERY good and very sad... Was worried about this not getting a Blu release. DAMN IT!

Yeah...I caught this one in theaters. It's not really a Christmas film. I can't fathom why Disney isn't putting it out on Blu-ray though. It is a good-looking film, has a major cast, and did fairly well at the box office. Disney's commitment to Blu-ray has been incredibly spotty on catalog titles and non-major theatricals lately. Even the major Disney releases haven't been announced this year, and they have been consistently for the last 9 years, so it's a bit of a surprise not knowing what's on the horizon!

I just got done watching Surrogates and one of the previews said "Coming Soon To Blu Ray" than the trailer for Everybodys Fine played. It even said IN the trailer that its coming to Blu Ray and DVD. God that pisses me off that they cancelled it!

i remmeber Disney doing that a lot. They did it for Blindness if i remember correctly.

what do you expect? Disney is the worst in regards to releasing any of thier titles on Blu ray. It is hit or miss on day/date and they are totally ignoring thier catalog titles.

Yeah. There was no blu-ray release for The Boys Are Back along with the DVD, this Tuesday, either. And it's Miramax, which is Disney. Also, no blu-ray release of Bright Star from Sony. And no Cold Souls or More Than A Game, next week.

Apparently, we just haven't reached the point yet to where a blu-ray release is the standard. All of the above films, although they reviewed fairly well, performed poorly at the box office.
