So, this is to the Dutch people or people that live in The Netherlands, just in case I'm posting this in English...
I just found that apparently the Pathé-cinema in Rotterdam also has IMAX. Now... would this be another sort of "fake IMAX" like the Pathé in Amsterdam? Because I went there to see 'The Dark Knight' in IMAX and I wasn't impressed at all. The screen wasn't that big, the image wasn't that great and it was also really curved. Besides that, the audio was ugly, it hurt my ears and I go to Metal-concerts... Where I saw that film first, in a Belgian Kinepolis-cinema, it kicked the "IMAX"-version's azz 10 times. So would it be the same for the Rotterdam-cinema or could this really be a legit high-end IMAX-experience? Because previously there was only the one in Amsterdam and there's also this OMNIMAX-theater in The Hague. Has anyone been in this one or how can I know without going there having 50% chance of it being real IMAX? Shouldn't it have some kind of license or actually more of a certification? Cause a license would of course AT LEAST be handy to promote your cinema with IMAX... XD But if it's officially certified, I guess that would prove a little more... Yes, that's the one.
What do you mean by >"real"< though? Not really real? lol I just read on Pathé's IMAX-page that as of March 10th, their Eindhoven-venue will also have IMAX. So I might go there for the next IMAX-attempt. lol I'm really not sure what to think of it, all they say is like: "It's as real as life with a screen of 164 square Meters and 14.000 Watts of digital sound!" (Edit: I believe that screen-size is one of the smallest standards around, so it's a regular screen.) That can be, but I doubt those are the only requirements to get a true IMAX-experience. And all I experienced 'The Dark Knight' like was simply big, ugly and obnoxious in Amsterdam. I wish Kinepolis would get IMAX in their cinemas, I mean, they have like at least 20 rooms per venue! And I wouldn't doubt them for a second, the quality there is just stunning. Last edited by Damage Inc.; 02-11-2010 at 10:48 AM. |
