Default poor PQ with streamed videos...

yesterday i finally got around to setting up a netflix account so i can stream movies directly to my lg bd390 bluray player. i tried a few movies out and OH MY GOD! it is the worst picture quality i have EVER seen, a vhs tape would look 1080p compared to this picture! has anybody else had any problems with netflix being streamed to a player? as for me i already called customer service and cleared my name with them, from now on im going to strictly watch blurays(and of course what i already own on regular dvd)

My streaming service has gotten pretty spotty lately, but I think it has to do with my internet service rather than Netflix. I'm streaming to an Xbox 360 and the streaming VQ was great and then something happened where I lost my internet service completely one day. A technician came out and got it going again, but it's never been the same since. I'm thinking about dropping AT&T DSL and going back to Comcast for internet service.

Also take into consideration that all movies on Netflix are not available in HD and in many cases OAR either.

I streamed "Clash of the Titans" via my Xbox 360 over the weekend and it was 4x3 standard def. The night before I streamed the Japanese thriller"Chocolate" in HD and looked pretty good.

I have a very good connection and once in a while the quality will drop off a notch but it's still a good picture (regarding content available in HD of course).

Internet speed is the likely problem. I also use an Xbox 360 for netflix streaming. Since I use the wireless adapter, the connection is up and down sometimes. I've never made it all the way through a show at HD quality. But, most of the times, the picture is good enough that it's not a problem.

I might look into a wireless bridge, and plug the 360 directly into that...see if that speeds things up? Anyone know if an wireless adapter (N) going to a wireless bridge (G) would offer enough speed for HD content? Assuming of course the provider's speed is high enough.

I've always used the wireless adapter as well and I never had a problem at all until the time I lost my internet service completely.

So far I've streamed 4 programs from Netflix, all documentaries. Two were in standard definition and looked it. The other two were HD. The PQ is about on par with HD cable, so I was pretty impressed.

Generally my 360 connects well, but I can never get 4 bars onthe network status. So I plan to either try a wireless bridge or move my router. First option will involve a purchase but be easier. Second option would be free but pretty complicated.
