EDIT: The 3 you can buy at $1.99 does NOT count towards the 5 you MUST by at regular price.

Did a quick search and didn't find this posted yet...

Got an email from Disney Movie Rewards, and noticed Disney has started a Blu-Ray Movie Club.

I believe it's similar to the CHCanada. Don't quote me, but for the Disney Movie Club, you need to buy 5 blu-rays in 24 months, but right now they're promo is you can get your first 3 @ $1.99 (plus s&h), and a 4th at $19.99 (plus s&h). that leaves you with just one to buy at like $27.99 or something.

They're selection is ridiculously limited, but if you've yet to buy any of the animated Disney flicks, or are a fan of the Pirates series, then I think this is a pretty good deal.

You need to buy five at regular price, or four if you buy the additional one now.

So it's a minimum of 4 x $29.95 plus 4 x $3.95 shipping, plus taxes, plus the cost of your introductory offer.

I think you actually have to buy 5 at regular prices on top of the 4 you get as the promo and not just one. This is from their website

"By agreeing to purchase at least 5 regular-priced movies in the next 24 months, you qualify to receive 4 Disney DVDs of your choice from the list of titles currently available from the Disney Movie Club for $1.99 each. Shipping and processing is free. Please allow 2-4 weeks to receive your first shipment. "

Shipping is also $3.49 for your first title & $1.99 for every title after that (in the same order) when buying movies to fufill your commitment.

5 movies at $29.99 kills the deal for me right there for me. If it was you only have to buy 2 or 3 titles, then maybe but 5 is just too high although you can take advantage & buy 2 towards your commitment for 14.95 & 9.99 with free shipping so that helps when picking your promo movies.

Also, this is currently U.S. only. I called and asked them about this when it first started a few months ago and they said that it should be coming to Canada in 2010. At the time, you only had to purchase two at full price, which might have been worthwhile. Also, if I remember correctly, DMC charges $35 per Blu-ray for Canadians, plus shipping. With all of the Disney coupons and Amazon sales that tend to go on, I just can't imagine it would be worth considering even if Canadians could apply.

my bad, i should've read the fine print.

didn't realize the 3 you can buy at $1.99 doesn't count towards the 5 you have to buy at regular price.

and yeah, if it was only 2-3 you had to buy at $29.99 then that might not have been that bad.
