You might want to wait until Shrek 2 is out to see if its restored - the UK cinema and DVD releases were censored for a head butt and replaced Larry King and Joan Rivers with Jonathan Ross and Kate Thornton. John Cleese' line about the old crusade wound was also redubbed to the old hunting wound for the UK

The voices and quote changes should be restored, but I doubt the head butt will be restored. It was changed to avoid the film getting a 12 or 15 rating, I don't think the BBFC ever allows head butts in films of a lower rating.

Great to hear it's coming out on Blu this year, but the first Shrek is still my favourite so I'm still waiting for word on that.

They censor a headbutt?
That's kind of pathetic.
But, it's funny Shrek 2 is up for pre-order and it's not in the US.
Oh and that Shrek isn't up either.

Oh, here we go, more delays

Also strange that Shrek 1 was never / still isnt available to pre-order, and yet Shrek 2 is, which makes no sense whatsoever.

Could be due to the exclusive deal with Samsung and their 3D TV's.

Or never a concrete date to begin with, like you said Shrek 2 before Shrek.

Hmm, Shrek 2 is still up for pre-order at both HMV and Play.

Its been made unavailable to order at Amazon now though.

Warning -

The likelyhood of November being a Blu ray extravaganza is probably high.

You got Aliens, Jurassic park, Back to the future, Ben hur and probably a host of others all piling up in that time zone. Its not sitting pretty. If you like steelbooks, i'd be very scared.

I thought Ben Hur was put back until next year?

I don't think concrete plans have ever been announced for Jurassic Park, just rumours.

I could see a similar situation as last year developing, when Lord of the Rings was pushed back. Too many titles out at once, and people just can't afford them.

Remember there are also rumours about Indy, and the big push from Disney, with a mixture of new and catalogue titles (3 Diamond Editions!) due. Also Sound of Music and Moulin Rouge from Fox. I think we'll inevitably end up seeing some titles pushed back.

Can't wait for it to be released over here next month. The artwork is slightly disappointing in comparison to the original DVD cover, but I can live with it. Pretty sure there is a small variation in artwork between UK, and US releases (US having the better version).

I notice Shrek has been recently added to this sites database:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Shrek-Blu-ray/11609/

Do they know something we dont ?
Plus that cover art looks pretty official.

Come on Dreamworks just let the first Shrek be available to pre-order already

It's a shame the first Shrek still hasn't been announced, it looks amazing on Sky Movies HD. They'll probably leave it until Shrek Goes Fourth is released.
