Default sony s350 bd player question...

Hello all.. we have a sony s350 bd player.. we hooked it up our RCA CRT projection tv. we love it. but heres the question.. prior to the BD player we were using a dvd player and watching with closed captions always, but after hooking up the BD player the tv for some odd reason will not play the closed captions. ever. it is frustrating since I cant seem to figure it out. please...any thoughts?? and thank you oh so much!

Are you trying to use the closed caption option on the television? You probably need to select the subtitle options on the actual blu-ray your watching in the discs menu.

Perhaps your tv can't apply CC when connected through HDMI. Just guessing on that though.

Default closed captions

I always select subtitles when available. sometimes regular dvds only have closed captions, which used to work on the regular dvd player, not the BD player which is frustrating. it must be like you said that closed captions wont play thru the hdmi/dvi input. I previously had the regular dvd player hooked up thru the rca connections. now the BD player is hooked up thru the DVI port with a hdmi with a DVI adapter. the tv is now considered an antique being its CRT and only a DVI connection. its 5 years old. I was thinking maybe I had something disabled on the BD player. there are quite a few options as far as audio goes..??????? HELP!!!! thanks
