Question Best DVD to remove plasma burn-in?

Hi guys,

I have some minor burn-in on my plasma (mainly from watching 4:3 content).

I notice it particularly when I'm watching very dark scenes in a movie where the outside (where the bars were) will be a lighter black than the inside.

I see many DVDs that claim they can reduce this or even eliminate it.

Which in your opinion is the best?

I know it may not work, but any shot is worth it.

Thanks.

how old is your TV?

Does it have any anti image retention technology such as pixel orbiter?

You could try to find a pure white image and turn your contrast way up for a while, perhaps try to blind it with the light?!

...in all honestly, I would like to say yes, you will get rid of the faint black bars...but depending on the TV itself (older models might have trouble) I just do not know?

It is possible, depending on how long the bars were left in place. Change your calibration settings temporarily, if possible. Lower the contrast and darken the image overall. Running the picture at high-contrast and brightness is what leads to the burn-in of black bars. The phosphors do not age evenly between the black portion and the rest of the image. Only run video that completely fills the screen of course.

the tv is about 3 years old

it has an 'all-white' feature and a 'signal pattern' feature

i have tried the all-white previously but i still see the faint black bars. plus im worried to leave the all-white on the screen for too long...could that burn in as well?
