Default Strange speaker suggestion request

We're getting new furniture in my game room, so I want to replace the front satellite speakers that are currently being used with towers, because there will no longer be shelves for the satellites to sit on.

This media room is used by my wife, and sound quality is really not an issue for her. Looks and price are the main issues. What would be the least expensive cherry towers I could find?

My exposure is with Polk, so I will throw this out there. You can get the Monitor 50's in cherry for only $110 a piece from NewEgg. They also have free shipping.....

I would suggest the Energy C-300s from vanns.com $260/pr, sound is nice and easy on the ears, great for music or TV, my wife loves them. My wife is a stay at home, and she will just chill with music all day, and then watch some BH 90210 reruns.... You and her will definetly like these.

Smoother and better mid-range detail then the Polks above. Highs are accurate and easy to listen to.

How about some Cherry speaker stands for the satellites.

They're just HTiB speakers. Not worth buying stands for. I figure with some towers I can use that system for music when I have parties instead of using my system in the next room over.

I'll second callas01's suggestion of Energy speakers. I really think that if I didn't go with my eD speakers, I'd have an Energy setup in my house. They really are an easy to listen to speaker, with great detail and sound.

Does this mean you are about to get a new center channel to match your new towers also? and since they are HTiB speakers, are you about to get a new receiver with your new front three because of possible Ohms differences?

No..... I'm probably just going to go 2 channel. That's what I've done in my bedroom, and it's pretty nice for casual watching; which is all my wife does. The receiver is a Sony STR DG710 that I replaced the old HTiB receiver with when it died.
