Picked it up today at £13.71 that's ASDA price I was surprisingly pleased with the image on the LCD video projector at 1080i as that is what it can only do since it came out just before the 1080p.

Despite it being hammered as flop at the box-office I fail to see that. It was tense and had me guessing and guessing wrong on who’s the killer and why?

The sound sigh I do wish Optimum Release gives it rest with dtsHDMA and give all titles DolbyTrue and dtsHDMA (the choice for the user)!

The mix wasn’t over played loud I had the level set just calmly for the average dialogue level and sound effects. The low end LFE.1, slam jolt as the jet engine is ripped off then oomph as it flies towards the screen was neatly mixed while the sub bass extension LCRS on the second sub kept the action low end constantly active.

The LFE.1 was sparingly used, but low end of the LCRS can often go down with the same low end as the LFE.1.

I haven’t gotten around to watching the extras yet and I’m sure they’ll be just as entertaining as the feature film.

Our British Kate was just hot from the moment she started to take he cloths off for hot shower, on one many Research Science Stations, located on the north and south pole.

Yeah I can watch this one again just like it when Kate is handling a firearm, not that I like firearms.

Yeah, I just watched it last night and was very happy with the movie. It was a good tense story in such an inhospitable environment.

And OMG Backinsdale is so well built...

I wish also optimum would pull all that non 1080p off of their discs. It ticks me off. It is region free, but they have a frigging 576 line optimum intro screen making it fail to play on US PS3s, so I had to use my older aussie PS3. I should have got a HK PS3 slim for my second player... It is more multiformat like the Aussie ones.

Good day mate
LOL I think she works-out to keep trim for these action roles.

Oh right you got the region free zone version. I noticed on the site here its DolbyTrue and Warner uses it on all its features.

As for you gripe on the opening I failed to notice that I was worried if the stereo fronts and surrounds where going end up reversed or some dodgy (green smearing) ruining the look of the image. Wow so far flawless, whew!

The skin tone colours looked marvellous and wow (Tom Skerrit) has gotten on bit since Tears of the Sun (2003) DVD might get that on Bluray sometime but fear it’s the same transfer made for the DVD and there are two versions and I want theatrical or both on the same disc no the directors cut version.

It’s the same with Underworld they only had to release the directors cut or special extended version and that just says no not touching it! These studios need to get there act together, or least of all employ someone that can make the right Bluray marketing decision.

It’s been nippy up here over the past 6 weeks. The lowest in a few years okay -6° might be summertime on the artic. But -60c screw that and the frost bite scene, where she shhh! Yeah you know the part wow that made me hairs stand up on the back of neck, because that is going to sting!

Have you also noticed the Bluray cases have unique smell over DVD cases. Wow have you had your blu-sniff for the day, don’t start the day without sniffing a standard blu cases, wow. Smells like massepain?

I have been wanting to watch this for a long time despite the bad reviews. It looks like a great transfer.

Yeah and I was dreading the telecine transfer / colour balance would be out of place. Spot on, too bad a few older films can’t get equal treatment.

I still haven’t yet viewed extras I’m still watching The Towering Inferno on Bluray region B. The week has been very Blu so far.

I plan on buying it today, and test it out for myself. Let's hope all that snow looks fantastic!

No it’s all GCI! Well some of it is. Watched some of the extras last night and I’ll re-watch the last half as I, got a little tired being up all day long.

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I was wondering if anyone knows how the UK BD compares to the US release, in terms of PQ/AQ?
